Match Report
Merchiston Castle School Boys U15 vs  Hutchesons' Grammar School
On: Tuesday, 20 Nov 2018
Venue: Away

The U15 boys travel to Glasgow to play Hutcheson's Grammar in the Plate competition.

On freezing cold and wet afternoon the U15 boys made the journey across to Glasgow. We started off quite slowly but began to get into the game midway through the half. We started to pass early to each other and put together some great counter attacks with Arran C, Matthew de V, Isaac F and Ruaridh WB up front. Teo T and Oscar J got on the ball in the middle of the pitch regularly. Arran thought he had score goal of the season after a mazy run but saw his effort smash off the cross bar.

It was still scoreless at half time but we just needed to continue doing the same things in the second half. Freddie C stepped into midfield as saw more of the ball as a result. Monty H had great energy from left back and after a barnstorming run he rounded the keeper to put us 1-0 up. We defended extremely well with Freddie A calm at right back and Daniel B pulling off any saves that were required. Robbie D was strong at the back and found himself in the circle after another attack. He slotted the ball under the goalkeeper to make it 2-0. Lyle M saw an effort hit the post which would have put the icing on the cake.

A great win from the young team and we look forward to more fixtures next term.
