“Fair play to you” is an Irish phrase meaning...”well done, you deserve this”!

...Fair play to is worth recording that this was their under 14 team, a well organised and talented bunch. Fair play to their coaches who allowed us to “ beef up” our team after we were 5 tries down in about 20 provide a proper challenge. Fair play to William, Sean, Jake and Gordie who at various times came on to “ beef up” our team

Fair play to Callum, Donald, Owen, Mateo, who are normally B2 s who played the entire game...and gave everything . Donald thank you for your captaincy! .

But also fair play to our lads... I counted at least 7 players, who 5 weeks ago had never played rugby before..Adrian, Wei, Ali, Galo, Pablo, Antong, Eduardo.....gentlemen very well done! have learnt well and are continuing to improve. Almost every boy you were playing against would have played for quite a few years!

Lastly, Mrs Shaughnessy says a very fair play to Ali! His work rate was second to none...and in the second half he carried time and time again. Mrs Shaughnessy is looking forward to a trip to please. Both Lukas and Aaron and Grigory, also had very good games.

BUT here is the nub of it ...when we got those extra 3 players....others suddenly upped their game... 5 tries to Nil became 5 tries to 4....and B3 players played like B2 s... tackles were completed, rucks were contested and won, commitment was there. ( we need to learn that we do not need 2-3 extra players to be that good) We ended the match with only 2 changes from the original 15.....and were competitive!

Lastly, fair play to “ Sir”... Josiah, who was referee and was very impressive, clear in his instructions, and received compliments from both sets of coaches. Josiah is in our upper Sixth.
